The new syllabus continues to feature the majority of the pieces currently in the 2009-2018 syllabus*, which means candidates can continue to prepare for their examination whichever date they choose. The 2009-2018 syllabus will be extended until 31 July 2019
The ABRSM requires a pass in all sections in order to pass the exam. There is also a grade 8 prerequisite for DipABRSM but no prerequisite for ATCL. As a piano teacher, I like ABRSM for being more well-rounded. However, I appreciate Trinity very much as it
